Ok, this shot is pretty damn important to me. So far the course I am in has done nothing but discourage me and break me down XD I was thinking of quitting, I honestly was. I didnt think i was cut out for any of this. BUT..... Part of the reason I joined in the first place is because I wanted this shot... every time I go to this beach (which is at least a few times a week) I awe at how gorgeous it is.
I got it!!! I got the shot that got me started, and now its the shot that will keep me going. Im not going to quit.... I CAN do this.

hehe, I wont, so far my course hasn't been to great XD that's all. I think its more to do with the fact we've been working with film this semester, there's a lot more effort involved, and the teachers aren't willing to teach us the skills properly, so we struggle lots. I think I'm going to really enjoy digital work though
That's why dA is so good. You get people from all over the world who can help you with skills ideas to better your photography. My photos have improved so much just because of this My opinion is that you can't be taught art, it's something you have to work out for yourself.

Oh of course, art cant be taught never, it wouldn't be any fun if it wasn't a journey for yourself. I love the diversity on DA, there's always something new, always a variety of inspiration.
When I say they aren't teaching us, I'm more referring to the practical stuff like how to use the chemicals and actual work within the darkroom Lol, that, and they have favourites (of which I am not one...) who take priority over equipment and stuff. The rest of us and left to right over the scraps and we're lucky to get anything done.
Ah, I see where you're headed. That's the problem when you go to classes like that - the people more popular with the organisers are always favoured, which means it's crap for anyone else. I hate feeling like a pig fighting over the shit in the trough, so I normally figure this stuff out for myself, haha!

hehe yer, I'm lucky, I already knew photoshop, and a lot of the lighting lessons seem like common sense to me.... but those who really came in to start from the very beginning have been left for dead >.<
only another week or so in the darkroom, then im FREEEEEEE
Knowing photoshop is always a bonus, and I know the feeling when other people don't really know the basics, and the teachers have to slow down the lessons just because of them... gah! Free to take over the world! Or at least unleash your camera on it

hehe yer, Im so glad we're getting in to digital, with film it was a constant worry about how much I had left >.< whether or not I could afford more.... Digital is fantastic... and I love colour
We'd have much better lessons if the teachers started with the basics.... made sure everyone understood....and THEN moved on... otherwise everyone gets left behind and the organisation falls apart (not that there was any to start with) so that time is wasted fixing a problem that shouldn't be there in the first place XD *frustration*
Digital is great simply because you instantly know whether you've stuffed up or not What do you expect? This is queensland education you're talking about here

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
